LONELY GIRL

(Felicity Urquhart (APRA) / Glen Hannah)

Can You see how it hurts me so

I must run I have to go

If I stay hurting inside

I'll hang my head

I'll lose my pride

Hiding fear from the people

Under a stone would be more peaceful

And would you search my gallant soldier

To find my soul under a boulder

My heart is very frail

A drift with a broken sail

I need to feel safe and calm

Where I can be free from harm

My face is feeling tired

I can't even raise a smile

I'm lost in a deep deep blue

Send out a rescue

Here in the real world

I'm a lonely girl

I'm a lonely girl

I am old enough to know

That paper wings can't carry any load

But was it wrong to dream the biggest dream

My will has failed the test it seems

My heart is very frail

A drift with a broken sail

I need to feel safe and calm

Where I can be free from harm

My face is feeling tired

I can't even raise a smile

I'm lost in a deep deep blue

Send out a rescue

In the real world

I'm a lonely girl

Can you hold me and this heart of mine

Like we were crystal cut pure and fine

A smile from you would light the fire

That's kindled long with such desire

My heart is very frail

A drift with a broken sail

I need to feel safe and calm

Where I can be free from harm

My face is feeling tired

I can't even raise a smile

I'm lost in a deep deep blue

Send out a rescue

Here in the real world

I'm a lonely girl

I'm a lonely girl a lonely girl
